STEVENSVILLE, MD (October 25, 2021) – Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, GmbH, a proud partner of Ride Entertainment, has signed an agreement to manufacture a one-of-a-kind Infinity roller coaster for a soon-to-be-named customer in the United States. The attraction, which is scheduled to open in late 2022, will be formally announced at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando next month.
“I am constantly amazed at how the team at Gerstlauer conquers unique challenges thrown their way,” said Ed Hiller, CEO and Founder of Ride Entertainment. “This new Infinity coaster will have guests racing to it in order to be the first to ride as it is being installed at a high-profile location.”
Ride Entertainment’s world-renown Installation team will construct the ride for the client.
“This project will once again showcase the ingenuity and creativity of Gerstlauer,” added Hiller. “In addition, our outstanding Installation team will be able to show why they are the gold standard of the attractions industry.”
So where could this new Infinity Coaster be headed?
Well, the whole – opening in Late 2022 makes any prediction tricky, since it’s very uncommon for any park to open their new for (year) coaster in the later part of that year…
I think this rules out any major park here in America… Unless, this is a cost saving measure and buys the park more time and money to pay for their new Infinity Coaster…
As of now, I think we have to take a look at the smaller parks – like – the two Florida Fun Spot parks, Park at OWA, Any seaside park along the coast and other small family owned parks…
Maybe Alabama Adventure? Nickelodeon Universe? Or maybe a park that hasn’t been fully announced yet?

Middletown City Council will hear the first reading of emergency legislation that could lead to a “monumental” project that could transform the downtown and attract millions of tourists annually to the city, according to the agenda for tonight’s meeting.
Main Street Community Capital and its development partners are expected to make a presentation tonight on the mixed-use development called “Hollywoodland.”
The emergency legislation will have two readings: tonight and Oct. 21, according to the agenda.
The project, if approved by the city council, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, the city said. It will include nearly 11 acres of city-owned land near the Great Miami River and encompass more than 50 acres of the historic downtown.
The city said the project could lead to thousands of jobs, and the “unprecedented spin-off and multiplier effect” of millions of yearly visitors to downtown Middletown.
“‘Hollywoodland’ can truly transform the community to make Middletown a destination – both regionally and nationally.” according to the staff report.
The ‘Hollywoodland’ development is expected to include:
A destination hotel and attached, a publicly-owned convention center with a roof-top bar, themed restaurant, and assorted amenities.
A second, family-oriented hotel and water park.
A third, historic, boutique hotel located within the adaptively-redeveloped First National Bank building.
A major, indoor entertainment and concert venue for large, nationally, and internationally acclaimed artists and touring Broadway productions.
An indoor amusement park containing multiple, themed entertainment-based rides, virtual reality experiences, immersive entertainment opportunities, and integrated retail, food, and beverage.
Structured and integrated underground deck-based publicly-owned parking with more than 3,000 spaces.
On-site, mid-rise, luxury, market-rate apartment units and/or condominiums.
Permanent, pre-and post-production motion picture studio sound stages and support offices and infrastructure.
Multiple, restaurants, bars, brew-pubs, and cafes, and a likely comedy club.
Integrated fashion, electronic, lifestyle, convenience, and recreational retail.
Judging by the renderings – there looks to be a few coasters that will be a part of the new indoor theme park… So that’s great for anyone who lives in this area or is visiting Kings Island!

Toverland is a park, that’s located in the Netherlands…
This beautiful theme park has been in operation since 2001, and currently features 5 roller coasters. But, how soon until we see the park open its 6th roller coaster?
You’ve probably have heard about a few of Toverland’s coasters – Troy, the massive Great Coasters International wooden coaster, and Fēnix, Toverland’s newest roller coaster – which opened in 2018…

Fēnix – Opened In 2018
Fēnix, which is a B&M wing coaster – cost over 19 million USD to build…
So that tells me that Toverland isn’t afraid to spend some money when it comes to future roller coasters…
One of the most intriguing things for me about this park – is the rapid expansion that they have done over the last few years…
Along with Fēnix, Toverland added a whole new themed land that blends beautifully in with their newest coaster…

So, can we see Toverland repeat this process soon? And if so, when?
It appears that Toverland has an image crisis – where most people think this park only caters to younger thrill-seekers…
So the park wanted to spice up its image with its new shiny toy from B&M back in 2018…
Fēnix paid off for the park since the new ride jumped the park’s attendance from 682,000 visitors in 2017 to 812,000 for the 2018 season!
Furthermore – 2019 saw another major increase in attendance – with over 862,000 people visiting that year!
Since the park was even close to changing their name before they added Fēnix, so they could cater to thrill-seekers, makes me want to think that their next coaster will be another one for the thrill-seekers!
Toverland already offers a sit-down coaster that features inversions.
A wooden coaster, a family launched coaster, and two other solid family coasters…
Toverland at the moment doesn’t offer a coaster that focuses on airtime or height, since Fēnix is the park’s tallest at 131 ft….
So could we be looking at a new hypercoaster making its way to Toverland next?
This would fill in a ton of voids that this park currently lacks and maybe they could open the largest roller coaster in the Netherlands?
Now, I do not know if the park has any type of height restrictions, but a roller coaster that is over 200 ft tall and features a layout based around large airtime hills, speed, and low to the ground turns would do great for this bucket list park!
If the park doesn’t want to spend the money on a hyper, or they can’t build over the 200 ft tall mark, could we see Toverland open a mega coaster-like Walibi Belgiums Kondaa?

This would still provide the park with all of the features that it currently lacks, plus, they would use the money they would save – to build a cool new themed land under and around the new coaster!
Toverland currently lacks an intense launch coaster….
So…
Abyssus At Energylandia
So, I would have to think that we could be looking at a new Vekoma launch coaster making its way to the park at some point. And the beauty of this coaster model is it offers almost everything you’d want a solid coaster to offer!
A new Vekoma launch coaster would blossom this lineup – into one of the best in all of the Netherlands!
Here is where I think we could see the park open their next roller coaster.
Overview of Toverland
This area is located just to the left of the main entrance and would offer some awesome visuals for everyone walking up to the entrance of Toverland!
So when do I expect Toverland to open their next roller coaster?
Well, it took 6 years in between Dwervelwind and Fēnix, so at first, you might think it could be a while before we see the new coaster… especially with the park being affected by Covid.
But, we can’t just ignore the momentum that Toverland’s attendance has had over the last few years, and I think the park will want to continue that trend going forward!
So I predict that the earliest we could see Toverland open their next coaster would be 2023!

I just recently rode the Racer, and let me tell you – I had the best ever ride on it, and I know I am not the only person to think that….
Kings Island and the Gravity Group did an amazing job on the 600 ft of engineered track… Now, I wonder – will Kings Island have Gravity Group add more during this off-season?
So what other wooden coasters out there could benefit from the new Gravity Group Engineered Pre-Cut track?
Here are 10 coasters and I think it makes sense for the park to hire the Gravity Group to install their new track…
Hurler – Carowinds
This rough wooden coaster could use some help… Better yet, the park’s maintenance team could use some on learning how to keep a wooden coaster – relatively smooth and enjoyable…
This all depends if Carowinds doesn’t want to spend the money converting the rough woodie into an RMC hybrid coaster…
I’d also be down for a zero-g roll added to the ride – if the Gravity Group felt compelled to do so..
Grizzly – California’s Great America
Anything would help America’s worst wooden coaster out…
Though, the park might be better if they just decided to convert this coaster into a hybrid!
American Eagle – Six Flags St. Louis
I’ve been on the park’s oldest wooden coaster quite a few times, and while it’s not the roughest ride at the park, I feel like it would make for the best candidate at Six Flags St. Louis for this new coaster track…
Monstre – La Ronde
Would Six Flags spend upwards of 10 million dollars on converting this dueling wooden coaster into a hybrid?
Hmmm…. Doubtful…
To me, that’s asking a lot…
Now I wish they would go that route… But sadly, the Gravity Group route might be cheaper…
Wildcat – Lake Compounce
Would the park give Gravity Group a call, even though they just purchased new GCI Millennium Flyer trains for the park’s classic woodie?
There are more questions than answers – but one thing for sure is – Wildcat needs some help… and I mean help asap...
So those are 5 coasters that i predict could see some of the new Gravity Group Engineered Pre-Fab track!
I love everything about this new track that the Gravity Group created – except one thing…
Marketability…
How can parks market this as a new attraction of new rides? Because people aren’t going to buy tickets or a season pass – just to ride the Racer at Kings Island because it’s smoother…

The park announced plans Tuesday to remove three longtime rides, which is sad, but has plans to add 10 new family rides and attractions for the 2022 season!
In a video released on social media, the park said it is saying goodbye to the Lighthouse, Falling Star and Lady Luck rides.
While those 3 family rides will be missed, we have to look towards the future growth of this park!
The Des Moines Renaissance Fair will be moving to the southeast corner of the park in 2022 and is expected to open in May.
The Warhawks ride will be constructed where the old entrance to the Dragon now stands. Bernie’s Swing will be constructed nearby. A new ride called The Lighthouse will replace the current Lighthouse ride.
A swinging boat ride called The Revolution will be constructed near Sheriff Sam’s Saloon. Near where the Lady Luck stands now, a Leap Frogs ride will replace it. Circus Balloons will be added to the park near the Space Shot.
The Clipper, a small swinging boat ride, will be constructed near the Galleon. An indoor ride called Speedway Racers will be added to the building housing the Arcade.
The Rockin’ Rainbow, a rotating swing ride, will be added near the Space Shot.
Adventureland also confirmed that their Raging River Raft Ride will be staying in the park. The Renaissance Faire will get its own entrance from outside of the park, as well as access from inside the park.
And don’t forget, this year – the park opened Dragon Slayer – their new S&S Free Spin roller coaster…
It’s great to see this family owned park in Iowa do so well…
Adventureland is open on weekends through Sept. 19.
